2nd Annual Wild Wild West Event A Huge Success!

CLC’s 2nd Annual Wild Wild West Chili Cook-Off and pie contest was a huge success thanks to the amazing chili entries. Unofficially, we raised about $20,000 at our event thanks to everyone’s generosity. The official results and final tallies will be announced soon. As we enter the Thanksgiving season, we are approaching the $40,000 milestone on our way towards reaching our goal of $250,000. Both Rob Cohen and I have challenged the community that we will shave our head’s bald should we meet our $250,000 goal by June 1st. And, our iconic PE teacher, Marty Smith, has vowed to shave his head (extremely long locks I might add) should we eclipse $275,000!

As an update, my wife, Michelle, has recently become aware of my “Head Shave” Challenge. Should you need to reach me, I am currently living in the dog house in our backyard. Hopefully, I will be allowed back in the house before Thanksgiving…

This week, CLC’s Annual Banana Seed Community Bookfair kicks off on Monday and last all week. Thursday evening is also a special CLC inspired Arts and Craft fair along with the Bookfair. Kick off your holiday shopping by visiting our CLC community members like our artist in residence, Irene Carvahal, on Thursday evening. A portion of everything sold will go back to CLC. And, of course, it will also go towards the “Head Shave” Challenge!
