The Passage of Proposition 30 resulted in California schools receiving funds through a new Education Protection Account (EPA). This initiative assures that EPA funds will be spent wisely to help stabilize school budgets and restore educational opportunities that have been whittled away during the revenue shortfalls and subsequent deferrals of school funding. The initiative states that the funds cannot be used for administration and that plans to spend these dollars must be approved in a public meeting of our board. Additionally, Proposition 30 requires that any district receiving EPA funds must post how it spends those monies on thier website.
